Year 1987: in Barcelona there are hardly any public or private consolidated resources for the homeless and it is not known how many people sleep on the street. In this context, a group of volunteers start up an open centre for people living on the street. That is how Arrels was born and since then 7.500 people have been attended. In this 25 years the framework has been favourable: new public resources have been created, network working with other entities, and laws and plans to combat poverty have been passed. The current crisis, however, poses challenges.
Next November will be 25 years that Arrels set in motion thanks to a group of people who wanted to be useful and accompany homeless people in Barcelona. The adventure started with a day centre of 60 square meters and a newsletter of the Arrels Open Centre for Passers-by being its aim to keep informed all people involved in the project .
Fins al 31 d’octubre es pot signar la Iniciativa Legislativa Popular a favor de la dació en pagament. L’objectiu és aconseguir 500.000 signatures perquè el debat arribi al Congrés. Arrels dóna suport a la iniciativa; us expliquem en què consisteix i com participar.

Apunta't aquest 18 de maig a pujar a Montserrat amb totes les persones que formem part d'Arrels per agraïr a l'Escolania de Montserrat el concert solidari que va fer a favor de l'entitat al desembre passat, per celebrar el seu 25è aniversari.
